Senior Sales Engineer

Location: New York City

Mission: To facilitate the closing of new business by bringing deep product knowledge and technical expertise to the business development team.

Primary Goals:
Maximize our prospective customer win-rate through industry leading sales engineering in support of BD
Ensure the on boarding of new customers is as smooth and easy as possible.
Develop customer confidence in us through demonstrating a deep understanding of the Ad Serving landscape and high level of technical expertise
Grow our business by offering creative solutions and approaches to complicated problems.
Reduce impact on the our product and client services and support teams by developing intimate understanding of the our platform and assisting Business Development on the selection of new clients and determining "fit".
Responsibilities:
Pre Sales

Understand our business and customer needs at a deep level
Give in-depth product demos tailored to prospects needs and be able to provide a very simple white-board outline of us and how we can fit in the customer's environment and business model
Fully understand customer's business model and business processes and try to fill missing key-functionality(s) with our core functionality
Conduct needs assessments with prospective clients once BD has qualified client for commercial viability.
During needs assessment phase determine if core functionality meets client needs or if Professional Services work is required
If Professional Services work is needed the Sales Engineer will write the Statement of Work (SOW) in conjunction with the professional services team in order to define the scope of the project and determine appropriate pricing.
Respond to RFPs in a timely and professional manner
Respond promptly to technical questions from BD and Clients that arise during the sales process.
Attend sales meetings with BD both on the phone and in person as necessary.
Deep understanding of the our vision and product roadmap
Work out how to quickly and substantially improve customer experience with existing resources.
Build strong, complementary, highly productive partnerships with colleagues. Build very clear working relationships with other teams, esp. product, technology and business team and make these relationships highly successful.
Post Deal
Create and project-manage Migration and on boarding plans and timelines for new customers
Coordinate with necessary teams to ensure smooth transitions from legacy ad Servers.
Work with the Professional Services team when necessary to help clarify client needs and to ensure development work in on schedule
Work with the Systems team to organize the deployment of new instances
Train new customers on newly installed instance
Facilitate a smooth transition to the client services team for ongoing support once the customer is live and in "production mode"
Technical Requirements:
Advanced working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and browser DOM management.
Candidate must be familiar with JavaScript execution differences, as it relates to both functionality and performance, between the major Internet browsers.
Candidate must be capable of reading, debugging, and editing object-oriented JavaScript, including DOM manipulation.
Strong understanding of the HTTP protocol.
Candidate should be familiar with HTTP response codes and their meanings.
Candidate must have a strong understanding of basic HTTP headers, including setting and retrieval, cache controls, etc.
Experience with Internet programming and debugging
Familiar with common browser-based debugging tools (LiveHTTPHeaders, FireBug)
Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP and basic computer-to-computer communication mechanisms.
Experience with relational databases, including MySQL.
Experience with popular ad servers (architecture, install, use, trafficking, troubleshooting…etc) such as DoubleClick, Google, Atlas…etc.
